CREATIVE WAYS TO WELLBEING

Creative Ways to Wellbeing offers people living with mental health issues in York access to therapeutic creative and wellbeing focused activities in a gentle and supportive environment.

We deliver our sessions in inspirational settings like York Art Gallery and we bring in expert craftspeople and artists to work with our participants so they can experience really high quality creative work and experiment with lovely materials.

We also try to tie our creative output to something in the wider community so that our participants feel more connected with others in the local area and the wider landscape.

To date they’ve made cards for local care home residents and primary schools and craft aprons for a local nursery. The standard of their work is quite amazing and the project enables them to express themselves in a way that language might not.

Our sessions are also supported by regular contact online or by phone with our facilitators. We also deliver beautiful, carefully-curated support packs which go out to participants in their homes. The packs are designed to maintain connection and offer cheer and respite when participants might feel most isolated or distressed.
